================================================

Currently, the H1 B visa quota has not been filled. Immigration is not as hard as it used to be.
However, in your case, the interviewer’s goal is simple:
1. to ensure that you will accompany a legally employed person in the United States and,
2. to ascertain if you will not try to seek employment in the United States.
Remember that they do not want you to settle in the U.S.here. They also do not want you to come and work illegally here.
Hence you must expect questions related to your marriage, your work experience, your spouse’s work experience, his/her salary slips and bank information, home address,

information about his employer, etc and your own work background. You can also find more information on my post titled “Can my h4 visa be denied”

===============================================================

The following are some of common reasons for denial of the H4 visa to the applicant.

The applicant is a citizen of a country with whom United States has poor or non-existent relations.  US has very good relations with India.
The applicant has falsified facts.
The applicant is unable to produce proper paperwork like spouse’s passport or work permit.
The applicant has committed fraud in his application.
The applicant was involved in has previous visa/immigration violations
The applicant’s passport expires too soon.
The applicant has a criminal record or has criminal charges pending in the country of origin.
The applicant is a potential risk to the Unite States.
The applicant has misrepresented the reason for the journey.
The applicant does not have any logistics support in the United States.  In other words you have to prove that your spouse in working in an office, has a place to stay

and will pick you up at the airport!
The applicant does not have a health/travel insurance or has a communicable disease.
The applicant does not have a good moral character.
The applicant had their previous visa application(s) rejected.  Visa application rejections are common but during your second application you must convince the

interviewer that conditions from the first rejection have changed.  In other words the reasons for the previous denials no longer exist or are not applicable anymore.

tensed to face this h4 intervies there english will be in very high flow language and i was doing mca 2year pls help me for giving suggestion

---

Hi Rekha,

In my opinion it should not be a problem. However, if you are not comfortable in talking in English you can choose the translation options. I recently saw translation

services for people who were not fluent in English in the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi.

Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for the kind remark

Make sure all paperwork is in order..

1. You have original I797 (H1 approval for your spouse).
2. Proof of marriage
3. Marriage certificate.
4. your spouse's two recent paystubb
5. letter from your spouse's comany stating that he is
still working for them.
6. your spouse's financial record (good to have in case
they ask).
7. make sure that you know which company your spouse work,
name of company, salary, how long working for this company,
how long working in USA, residence address, phone, etc,
etc...  they may ask question to really make sure that you
are married and do know each other...
8. information about spouse family, no. of siblings, their
jobs, in-laws, their job (or retired), etc.
9. Last but not least, you need to PROVE that after going
to US you will not take illegal employment. If they about
you plan related to getting JOB (legal of illegal) clearly
and confidently reply some thing like... for next few years
my plans are "....... " ... OR I do not plan to do JOB...
but then be ready to answer question like.. How you really
plan to utilise your education???

==============================================================

Hi Jalabdhi,

Thanks for posting here.

Name is Jalabhi. I am not very confident in speaking in English.

This is a problem I believe for officers who only say questions in english.

Ans:No this is not a problem at all. There are regional language translation services available at the U.S. Embassy. You will have to check for this service at the

time of selecting the slot for H4 visa interview.

Some friends say that I will not get visa as I opt for hindi or regional language translation.

Ans:This is not true at all. If you answer all the quesitons well and carry all the paperwork with you, you will get the H4 visa for sure. The officers understand that

not everyone is fluent in English and this is the reason the translation services are available.

I can write English but my spoken english is weak. Can I give a written H4 visa interview?

Ans:Of course you will get the visa but unfortunately , there is no provision for a written H4 visa interview.interview. Jalabdhi, quite frankly, I think you write so

well and there is no need for a translator..:)) but that is just my opinion. The only problem is that sometimes there is a longer wait for an interview with

translation service ; but you should keep checking.
Good luck and do well! Thanks! Admin

Tips
Keep a copy of all your documents.
Answer all questions clearly during the interview.
Do not stumble on words or look nervous. Do not double talk. The interviewer will immediately know that you are misrepresenting information.
Upon receiving your visa, carefully check for any kind of mistakes like name, date of birth, type of visa, validity date, etc.
=================================================

I took the H4 interview a year ago at the American Consulate, Chennai.

I'm not aware of any sample questions/links provided in this regard. The questions asked depend entirely on the officer interviewing & everybody's experience is

different.

I would suggest you both to keep all your documents in order & ask your respective husband's to explain to u what each document is about. Also make sure to keep the

originals & photocopies of all the documents.

As far as i remember, the foll. documents are very important....

Application, HDFC receipt, passport, copies of passport, letter from husband's employer, husband's W2 & bank statement, I-129 (if applicable), small album of marriage

photos, marriage registration certificate,etc.

Other than that, be cool.......read the do's & dont's mentioned in the application & the consulate site & very imp......'answer to the point' when asked any question.

All the best for the interview.

Cheers!
